Who I am

This website is run by Holly James, trading as James & Co. Business Solutions, based in the North West of England. I'm responsible for any personal information you share here. You can contact me at holly@jamesand.co.uk or on +44 7348 954701.

What I collect and why

• Contact form: your name, business, email address, what you'd like help with and your message, so I can reply to your enquiry.
• Booking a call: your name and email address, collected by my Google Calendar booking page, so I can confirm the call and send a video link.
• Free downloads: your first name, email address and, if you choose, your business name, so I can send you the download, see who it's helping and, if it seems useful, follow up once.
• WhatsApp, email or phone: whatever you choose to send me, so I can respond.
• Client portal (clients only): the email addresses you give me for logging in, your approvals and comments on planned posts, the images and captions we work on, and performance figures from the social media accounts you've given me access to, such as follower counts, views and interactions. I use these to deliver the work we've agreed. They're stored in my Google Workspace account and shown only to you and me.

I use this information because it's in our shared interest for me to respond to you (legitimate interests). If we go on to work together, I'll keep the details needed to deliver the work and to meet my legal and accounting obligations.

I don't sell your information, and I won't add you to a mailing list unless you ask me to.

Where it's stored

Enquiries, bookings and download requests are handled through my Google Workspace account (Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Sheets). Google may process data outside the UK, under safeguards such as the UK's approved data transfer agreements.

How long I keep it

I keep enquiry and download details for up to two years, then delete them, unless we start working together. Client records are kept for as long as UK accounting rules require.

Website statistics and cookies

This website doesn't use cookies. The client portal stores a login key in your browser so you stay logged in for 30 days. It's only used for that, and logging out removes it. To understand which pages are useful, it uses Plausible Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without collecting personal information. Nothing it records can be used to identify you.

Some links take you to other services, such as Google Calendar, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn. Those sites have their own privacy policies and may set their own cookies.

Instagram feed

The home page shows my latest Instagram posts using Behold (behold.so). When that part of the page loads, your browser fetches the posts and images from Behold's servers, which can see your IP address in the same way any website you visit can. Clicking a post takes you to Instagram, where Instagram's own privacy policy applies.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, or object to how I use it. Just email holly@jamesand.co.uk and I'll respond within one month.

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
